So I know I haven’t posted in forever, but things have been pretty busy.

First off, I’ve not been feeling well, for a while. But I’m getting better and I’ll be ok. Now that’s out of the way…

I’ve been doing a lot of mixing work lately and haven’t written much new music lately. That’s OK, I actually see being able to trade off hats as a job perk. Creating music can be very mentally taxing, so it’s nice to put down production and just be able to record and mix. But I am gearing up for a new personal project soon.

I’ve been helping my buddy Seth Alexander get some songs done for an EP he’s trying to put out before the end of the year.

I’ve been recording Leidenfrost’s first full length release with their new vocalist. It’s about halfway through the recording process, and then I’ll be mixing and mastering it, and it should be out by the end of the year. These guys are fabulous! Great rock tunes, great melodies, great people.

I’ve done a ton of improvements to my studio and got some much better sound treatment, and it’s made a huge difference in my work.

My phone takes awful pictures.

Lots going on.

I recently landed a cool project that I can’t say much about, because the product isn’t released yet. But it’s cool to be able to say that my music will be featured in a new product that will be available worldwide. SO LETS HEAR IT FOR MY FIRST BIG PLACEMENT! (Even though I can’t tell you what it is yet.)

I’ve been doing a lot of mixes for Redeye Dutch, who’s new single “Poppin’ Like Ciroc” has been making some racket. You will probably be hearing this song on radio soon. Good job guys! [Correction! It's now been brought to my attention that Poppin Like Ciroc is on the radio in NY, NJ, NC, and SC.... awesome!]

Got all my copyrights in order over the weekend. That feels good. I would also like to take this opportunity to dispel a myth I have often heard. I had been told by several people that the only way to properly copyright your music was submit 1 song per application (at $35 a pop) as opposed to uploading a large block of songs under 1 application. I spoke to someone at the US Copyright Office this morning who informed that indeed, you are legally covered if you upload 30 songs at once on a single application, but only if you did all the work.

I am also looking for a manager. I want someone who can help me get my music into the right people’s hands, ears, and minds. I want someone who has managed a producer before, and I definitely want someone who has been in the music business. I really don’t want to be someone’s experiment, and I definitely need someone that knows more about the biz than I do.

Making more music, studio sessions this week, mixes to get done. Just for kicks, I’m about to undertake doing a bunch of dance remixes of pop songs, so I’ll be taking suggestions.

Been staying busy as usual. I’ve finally gotten things settled around here on the website, and I’m pretty happy with it. Still more things to come – a section with screenshots and/or videos with some how to’s on things like optimum recording levels, how to package a ProTools session to send to an engineer for mixing, how to make stems of your production and so forth.

I’m waiting on the paperwork for my publishing company to come back, then I have to transfer a bunch of copyrights, and then I have to get some MORE business paperwork together. Ahh sweet government red tape. But once all that is done, I’ll be the CEO of a production company!

Recorded a new Niajae song the other day. It’s not done yet, but it will be soon. And I think this is some of our best work yet.

In addition to the production company and working on music for Niajae, I have a few other things up my sleeve. I’m working on an as of yet untitled music project – something a little different than what I’ve done before. I’m hoping to have it done by the fall, so stay tuned on that.

So all this site updating and migration business is done! I had made a bunch of blog posts as I was re-designing the site, but they didn’t make it in the not-so-smooth WordPress change over. It’s ok, the posts were basically to do lists and me rambling to myself. All of the critical content made it over, and I made some great notes about what not to do next time I have to move a test site to a live page.

Have a look around. I have a bunch of music I’ve worked on, a bio, and a page listing my rates and services. I’m going to be adding more music, as well as a tips and tricks section where I’m planning to put up a few how-to videos, and more blog posts.

You can leave comments, or share on Twitter or Facebook. Thanks!
